Poet - Rod Miller

Rod Miller is author of two collections of poetry, Things a Cowboy Sees and Other Poems and Goodnight Goes Riding and Other Poems, as well as a limited-edition chapbook, Newe Dreams. His poetry has appeared in several anthologies, as well as numerous periodicals including American Cowboy, Western Horseman, Range, and Saddlebag Dispatches.

Things a Cowboy Sees was named Poetry Book of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists, and that collection as well as Goodnight Goes Riding were named poetry book of the year by Westerners International. Miller is also author of a collection of essays on the art and craft of writing cowboy poetry, A Cowboy Poet’s Handbook.

In addition to poetry, Miller is the author of over two dozen books. He is a four-time winner of the Western Writers of American spur Award and twice won the Peacemaker Award from Western Fictioneers along with other honors and recognition.
