Dakota Holdaway is a storyteller and poet out of Nephi, Utah.
His introduction to the cowboy lifestyle began like many before him; on the back of a horse or mule, with his father and friends in the mountains and deserts surrounding his home. He learned many of life’s lessons and further develop values navigating the diverse terrain, hunting, packing, breaking and herding livestock. Drawn to the rich cowboy legacy of poetry and storytelling, it became the mechanism to share some of his own experiences with family and friends.
Dakota is committed to spreading the word, the values of the lifestyle he leads. At the age of 24 he had pioneered the Juab Cowboy Poetry Gathering, working, writing, reciting and still making time to start a few young horses. The goal with his poetry is to share and create community with all those who might enjoy or relate to his way of life.
